ScanServe turns every table into a self-service ordering point. Guests scan the QR code on their table and a fast photo menu opens in the browser — no app, no signup. They build their order, send it straight to your kitchen, watch live status on their own phone, and pay at the table or online. Staff see everything on a live service board. Self-hosted on your own server: no cloud subscription, no per-table fees, your data stays with you.

Features

Guest ordering (mobile web, no app)

• Scan a table QR → that table's photo menu opens instantly; the order is tied to the table automatically
• Categories, photos, prices, dietary badges (vegan, spicy…) and allergen notes on every item
• Option groups (toppings, sizes, sides) — required or optional, with price deltas — plus per-item notes ("no onions")
• Live order status on the guest's phone: received → preparing → served, per round; second rounds append to the same check
• Call waiter and request the bill buttons that ping the service board until acknowledged
• Multilingual menu: add languages, translate items and categories in the admin — guests switch with one tap
• A separate store-wide QR for the door or flyers opens a browse-only menu

Payments your way

• Pay at the table: staff settles in cash (with change math), card, or your custom methods
• Or online from the guest's phone — Stripe or PayPal with your own keys, optional tip presets, verified server-side
• Nothing is hardcoded; gateway keys are stored encrypted in your database and sent only to the gateway itself
• Service charge, inclusive or exclusive taxes with per-item tax rates, split payments, manager-gated voids — all audit-logged

Service board & kitchen display

• Dark, tablet-friendly service board: incoming orders with age warnings and a new-order chime, waiter calls, live table grid (free / occupied / billing)
• Kitchen display: pending tickets oldest-first with age colors; Start / Done feeds the guest's status page
• Prefer paper? Print kitchen tickets instead — or both. Bills and receipts are browser print pages sized for 80mm rolls (A4 works too)

QR manager

• Per-table codes as plain URLs — every phone camera opens them, no app
• Printable tent cards and sticker sheets, for all tables at once
• Instant rotation: lost or abused code? One click and every previously printed code for that table stops working

Back office (Laravel + Filament)

• Dashboard: today's sales, open orders, average check, 14-day chart, top sellers, low-stock alerts
• Menu management with photos, sold-out (86) toggle and optional simple stock with auto sold-out at zero
• Date-range reports: summary, by payment method, by item, by day, by hour, by table, and QR vs staff

Requirements

• PHP 8.3+ (pdo, mbstring, openssl, fileinfo, intl; gd recommended) — the installer checks this for you
• MySQL 8 / MariaDB 10.6+ or SQLite — ordinary shared hosting works
• HTTPS strongly recommended (guests order over the public internet)

Made for easy self-hosting

• Browser install wizard — upload, open your site, fill in DB and admin details. No Composer, no SSH, no code editing
• Runs on ordinary shared hosting: no websockets, no queue workers, no cron, assets pre-built
• No external services required — the only outbound calls are to Stripe/PayPal, and only if you enable online payments
