PulseDrop – AI Blood Donor Recipient App

PulseDrop AI is a full-stack blood donation platform built with Next.js 16, React 19, and MongoDB. It connects blood donors with people in urgent need through real-time emergency requests, private in-app messaging, and an AI-powered assistant that answers donation and eligibility questions.

The app ships with JWT-based authentication, a smart donor search (filter by blood group and city), privacy controls so donors can hide their phone number, and a fully responsive Tailwind CSS v4 interface. A complete setup guide and technical documentation are included, so you can configure your own database, email, and AI provider credentials and deploy in minutes.

Requirements

Before installing, make sure you have:

• Node.js 18.18 or later, and npm
• A MongoDB database - a free MongoDB Atlas cluster works, or a local MongoDB instance
• A free Groq API key for the AI Assistant feature
• A free Resend API key for message-notification emails
• Basic familiarity with running Next.js apps and setting environment variables

Instructions

Full setup steps and configuration details are included in the README.md and the bundled documentation (Documentation/pulsedrop-docs/index.html). Quick start:

1. Extract the package and run npm install
2. Copy .env.example to .env.local and fill in your MongoDB, JWT, Groq, and Resend credentials
3. Run npm run dev to start the app locally at http://localhost:3000
4. For production, run npm run build then npm run start, or deploy to any Node.js hosting platform.
