EmailKit - Responsive HTML Email Template Pack

Description

Most "responsive email template" downloads are really just a regular webpage that happens to look fine in a browser, then falls apart the moment a real inbox renders it: floats collapse, buttons lose their shape, and images that get blocked leave a blank box where your logo should be. EmailKit is built against the constraints real email clients impose, not against a browser.

The pack ships four ready-to-send templates: an account welcome email, an order/payment receipt, a password reset, and a newsletter digest with a featured story and secondary stories. Every one uses nested HTML tables and fully inline CSS (no linked stylesheet, since most inboxes won't reliably load one), a tested single-column mobile breakpoint, and an Outlook-specific VML button fallback so your call-to-action renders as an actual button in Outlook desktop instead of a bare underlined link.

Dark mode is designed, not accidental: every template ships `color-scheme` meta tags and a real `@media (prefers-color-scheme: dark)` block with explicit dark values for every background, border, and text color, so clients that auto-invert for dark mode (Apple Mail, Outlook.com, the Gmail app) render a designed dark version instead of an unpredictable inversion of the light one. The custom "Ember" palette (warm terracotta accent, espresso/parchment neutrals) is hand-picked for this pack, not a stock framework default. Every buyer-specific value is a clearly bracketed `{{token}}`, documented in one README table, so you can drop the HTML straight into any ESP's import tool (Mailchimp, SendGrid, Postmark, etc.) or your own mail-sending code.

Features

- Four templates: account welcome, order/payment receipt, password reset, and a newsletter digest with a featured story and secondary stories (v1 of an expanding pack) - Custom "Ember" color palette (warm terracotta accent, espresso/parchment neutrals), not a stock framework default - Built-in dark mode: `color-scheme` meta tags plus a real `@media (prefers-color-scheme: dark)` block with designed dark values for every background, border, and text color - Built the way real email needs to be built: nested HTML tables, every style inline, no linked stylesheet - Single-column mobile layout via a tested `@media` breakpoint - Outlook-specific button fallback (VML conditional-comment technique) so CTAs render as real buttons in Outlook desktop - Text-based logo treatment that still shows your brand name when images are blocked, with a documented one-line swap to a hosted logo image - Every buyer-specific value is a bracketed `{{token}}`, documented in one README table - Copy-paste into any ESP's HTML import (Mailchimp, SendGrid, Postmark, etc.) or your own mail code

Requirements

None. Plain HTML files, no build step, no dependency. A modern ESP account or your own mail-sending code to actually deliver the emails.

Instructions

1. Unzip the download; open any file in `src/` (`welcome.html`, `receipt.html`, `reset.html`, `newsletter.html`) directly in a browser to preview it - no server or build step needed. 2. Open the `.html` file in a text editor. 3. Replace every `{{token}}` with your real content (a full token reference table is in the README, covering company name/address, CTA links, order details, reset links, newsletter stories, etc.). 4. If you'd rather use a hosted logo image instead of the default styled-text logotype, use the `<img>` tag shown in the HTML comment next to the logo cell, and set `{{logo_url}}` to point at an image you host yourself. 5. Paste the finished HTML into your ESP's "import HTML" template editor (Mailchimp, SendGrid, Postmark, etc.), or send it directly with your own mail code (PHPMailer, `wp_mail()` with HTML headers, a transactional API's raw-HTML field).
